Measure your dog standing naturally. Neck: around the base of the neck. Chest: around the widest part of the chest. Back: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Manual measurements may vary by 1–2 cm. Weight is a guide only; compare all three measurements before choosing a size.

The chest and back are adjustable. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure.

Description

Woodland 90% White Duck Down Puffer Vest

Warmth through the chest and back with nothing over the front legs, for a dog who dislikes being dressed.

Made in 100% cotton and fastening with hook-and-loop fastening. It is cut for a dog, not scaled down from a human pattern, which is why it sits flat rather than twisting.

Product details

  • Gilet for dogs
  • 100% cotton
  • 90% white duck down fill
  • White duck down fill
  • Fastening: hook-and-loop fastening
  • Padded body
  • Insulated body
  • Colourways: Green, Pink
  • Sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL

Fabric and construction

The main fabric is nylon shell. Nylon is woven tightly and finished to shed water, which is why it is the standard outer face on technical outerwear.

Insulation: 90% white duck down fill, white duck down fill. Loft is what makes a padded layer warm — the fill traps air, and the air is what holds the heat, which is why a light padded coat can outperform a heavy unpadded one.

Size guide

These sizes are built around three measurements. Take them on your dog while they are standing, with the tape flat but not tight.

Measurement Where to take it
Neck Right round the base of the neck, where a collar sits.
Chest The widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
Back length From the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Back length is the measurement that decides the size. Chest decides whether it closes comfortably. If your dog is between two sizes, take the larger one.

Sizes available: XS, S, M, L, XL.

Fit notes

  • Between two sizes, take the larger. A garment that is slightly long is wearable; one that is tight across the chest will be refused.

Styling

Layers over a thin knit or a cotton tee on the coldest days, and under nothing at all the rest of the time.

Everyday use

A gilet is the compromise for a dog that will not tolerate sleeves. It covers the chest and back, which is where most of the heat is lost, and leaves the shoulders entirely free.

Care

  • Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, fastenings closed
  • Do not use fabric softener — it clogs a water-repellent finish
  • Tumble dry low to restore loft, or dry flat and shake out
  • Do not bleach, do not dry clean
  • Remove the gilet before the dog is crated or left unsupervised

Safety

For supervised wear. Check the fit each time it goes on, and take it off before the dog is crated or left alone — anything that can snag can also catch. Inspect the stitching, fastenings and trims regularly, and stop using it if anything works loose or a seam opens.

What is not included

One gilet per order in the colour and size selected. Leads, collars, harnesses, bowls, toys and any other items shown in the photographs are styling props and are not supplied.

FAQs

How do I choose the right size?

Measure your dog's neck, chest and body length while they stand naturally, then compare all three with the size guide. Recommended weight is a guide, not a substitute for measurements.

Is the fit adjustable?

Yes. The supplier describes adjustable chest and back length, with drawstring adjustment.

Can I machine wash the vest?

No. The supplier recommends professional dry cleaning, or alternatively hand washing in cold water. Do not bleach or wash with other items.

What is the vest made from?

Shell A is 100% cotton, Shell B and the lining are 100% nylon, and the filling is 90% white duck down.

Is the mustard-coloured onesie shown in some photos part of the vest?

No. It is a separate garment shown underneath the vest.
