PupWarm Reversible Down Coat
Built for the walk you do anyway in January, when the dog still needs to go out and the wind is coming off the park.
With no fastenings — it pulls on over the head. The fit is the part most dog clothing gets wrong, so the measurements below are worth two minutes before ordering.

Fabric and construction
Insulation: 90% white duck down fill, white duck down fill. Loft is what makes a padded layer warm — the fill traps air, and the air is what holds the heat, which is why a light padded coat can outperform a heavy unpadded one.
The outer face is finished to shed water. A finish of this kind handles rain and spray; it is not a dry suit, and in prolonged heavy rain the seams will eventually wet through.
Size guide
Measure your dog before ordering. Back length decides the size; chest decides whether it closes comfortably.
| Size | Neck | Chest | Back length | Dog weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 32 cm | 53 cm | 32 cm | 4-6 kg |
| S | 35 cm | 59 cm | 36 cm | 6-8 kg |
| M | 38 cm | 65 cm | 40 cm | 8-11 kg |
| L | 41 cm | 72 cm | 45 cm | 11-14 kg |
Measurements are taken flat and are approximate. A tolerance of 1–2cm between pieces is normal.
Fit notes
- The weight column is a guide only. Two dogs at 8kg can be very different shapes, so the chest and back measurements decide the size, not the weight.
- Between two sizes, take the larger. A garment that is slightly long is wearable; one that is tight across the chest will be refused.
- Woven outerwear has no stretch. If the chest measurement is at the top of a size, go up.
Styling
Layers over a thin knit or a cotton tee on the coldest days, and under nothing at all the rest of the time.
Everyday use
A winter coat earns its place on the two or three walks a day that happen regardless of the weather. Keep it by the door, check the chest fastening is clear of the front legs each time, and take it off indoors so the dog does not overheat on the sofa.
Care
- Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, fastenings closed
- Do not use fabric softener — it clogs a water-repellent finish
- Tumble dry low to restore loft, or dry flat and shake out
- Do not bleach, do not dry clean
- Remove the coat before the dog is crated or left unsupervised
Safety
For supervised wear. Check the fit each time it goes on, and take it off before the dog is crated or left alone — anything that can snag can also catch. Inspect the stitching, fastenings and trims regularly, and stop using it if anything works loose or a seam opens.
What is not included
One coat per order in the colour and size selected. Leads, collars, harnesses, bowls, toys and any other items shown in the photographs are styling props and are not supplied.
