CloudShear Plush Winter Jumpsuit

Full-body cover for cold or muddy walks, which is the piece that saves the most cleaning up afterwards.

Made in lambswool, in a four-leg cut and fastening with side-release buckle. It is the kind of piece that ends up living by the front door rather than in a drawer.

Fabric and construction

The main fabric is lambswool. Lambswool is the first clip from a young sheep, so the fibre is finer and softer than standard wool and sits more kindly against a dog that will not tolerate a scratchy jumper.

Insulation: quilted construction. Loft is what makes a padded layer warm — the fill traps air, and the air is what holds the heat, which is why a light padded coat can outperform a heavy unpadded one.

Fit notes

A four-leg cut takes longer to put on than a two-leg one. The usual order is front legs, then back, then fasten.
Between two sizes, take the larger. A garment that is slightly long is wearable; one that is tight across the chest will be refused.
Woven outerwear has no stretch. If the chest measurement is at the top of a size, go up.

Styling

Layers over a thin knit or a cotton tee on the coldest days, and under nothing at all the rest of the time.

Everyday use

A four-leg suit is the most practical thing in a muddy winter and the least practical thing to put on in a hurry. Allow a minute at the door, and it will save fifteen at the other end.

Care

Hand wash cool, or machine wash at 30°C on a wool cycle
Do not wring — press the water out and reshape while damp
Dry flat, away from direct heat
Do not tumble dry — wool felts and shrinks in a hot drum
Do not bleach
Remove the onesie before the dog is crated or left unsupervised

Safety

For supervised wear. Check the fit each time it goes on, and take it off before the dog is crated or left alone — anything that can snag can also catch. Inspect the stitching, fastenings and trims regularly, and stop using it if anything works loose or a seam opens.

What is not included

One onesie per order in the colour and size selected. Leads, collars, harnesses, bowls, toys and any other items shown in the photographs are styling props and are not supplied.
