Neck: around the base of the neck where a collar sits. Chest: around the widest part behind the front legs. Back: base of the neck to the base of the tail. Measure your dog standing.
This pulls on over the head, so check the neck measurement carefully.
Dachshund (S) and (M) are longer in the body with shorter sleeves, for long-bodied, short-legged dogs.

How to measure and choose
With your dog standing, measure neck where a collar sits, chest around the widest ribcage behind the front legs, and back from base of neck to base of tail. Compare all measurements and allow room for movement. Check that the pullover neck passes comfortably over the head. If between sizes, check the larger size against all measurements. Choose by measurements rather than breed alone.
